Antique Sterling Silver Coin Purse. This gorgeous purse is made from sterling silver. It is of an unusual torpedo shape with a beautiful Bright-Cut engraved design to both sides (reminiscent of a Middle-Eastern form) and theres a vacant cartouche to the front. It opens by means of a cross-over clasp and the interior (comprising two large outside pockets and a smaller one in between) is lined with dark blue silk. The purse comes with a chain and finger loop. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1918 although the date mark t on one side is rubbed, its clearer on the other. It also has the makers mark WH but I think the lower section has been rubbed and I havent been able to identify the silversmith. This purse is in beautiful condition with no dents or dints that I can find, the decorative detail is very crisp, the clasp is in good working order and the closure of the purse is nice and tight.
