Genghis-Kahn was the first Great Khan (Emperor) and founder of the Mongol Empire. Reigning in the early 13th century, he is considered to be one of the most successful, and most vicious, conquerors in world history. This Great Commanders Series 2021 Genghis-Kahn coin is crafted from 2 Troy oz. The 50 mm diameter coin features a dramatic high relief strike. The coin’s complex imagery is highlighted by a breathtaking antiqued patina. The coin is edge numbered. The coin is part of a 999 piece limited mintage. Astoundingly Detailed Commemorative Imagery. Obverse: The obverse features a map of the Mongolian Empire amassed under the leadership of Genghis-Kahn. The map includes the names of settlements within the region, as well as the dates and routes of significant campaigns of Genghis-Kahn and his generals. Layered above the map is the right facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed in 1998 by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. The inscriptions “NIUE, ” “ELIZABETH II, ” “5 DOLLARS, ” “2021” and “AG 999″ curve above. Reverse: The reverse depicts Genghis-Kahn on horseback wielding a sword in the midst of fierce battle. The scene is selectively accented with bright red gold plating, vividly portraying the brutality of the Mongol warriors. “GENGHIS KHAN” is inscribed below.
