More than a dozen people were killed during robberies involving police officers, federal agents and civilians too. John was imprisoned several times and managed to escape from prison twice. He died young at age of 31 being shot and killed by the special agents on July 22, 1934. His death came only two months after the deaths of fellow notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde.
