This is a lovely antique metal mesh d ouble purse by Whiting & Davis Co (signed), the company who invented the genre and dominated it with quality and design throughout the late 1890s and well into the 20th century. With its ornate cathedral frame, unique lacy metal floral fringe, blue sapphire clasp and metal ring, this is one gorgeous tiny metal purse. It is made in late 1800s early 1900 made of German Silver, with is actually an alloy of copper, nickle and zinc. Intricate, ornate, impressive in every way. At 100+, we should all look so good. The single ball clasp work s, the mesh is intact and in very good condition. One of the little bags has a tassel, the other does not. One side the hinges are intact and the other is not.
