Details: A fantastic and wonderfully designed antique Victorian sterling silver double sovereign case fob with lovely detailing hallmarked London 1893 to the interior by Joseph Walton, engraved initials to the exterior. A rare English solid sterling silver sovereign and gold coin case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 with the makers marks being SM&Co for Sampson Mordan. It has been superbly designed having a. Sprung compartment which can be depressed allowing coins to be inserted – not unusually the hinge is gold. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs – light surface marks from use. The springs that hold the coins are strong. 1.25 inches (3.4cms) across excluding the loop by 0.5 inch (1.3cms) wide and weighs 30 grams. A superb quality piece.
