This delightful sterling silver collectors bag features a built-in coin purse, a feature which is not often seen with other mesh style bags of this era. LD tells us the English maker’S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd’, other hallmarks are not so visible, making it difficult to give an exact age to this bag. Note- the mesh is difficult to clean and has been left with the original patina. Edwardian- Art Deco, 1900’s-1920’s. Blanckensee & Son Ltd,’lion’- stamped to the’O’ ring on chain,’STERLING SILVER’ – stamped to inner small coin purse frame; other hallmarks are worn and not readable. It has been superbly designed with an inset 1965 Churchill coin (I don’t think it is silver).
